Jensey Loves Christmas in July!

23rd July 2016

I can’t believe it’s been a year since our housewarming party! And I can’t believe I still haven’t shared photos of our new hooooome!!! How long can you still call your home “new?” :)

Last year, we decided to throw a Christmas in July housewarming party. Cute, right? The best thing about it was that it’d been a good year and a half since we’d seen our decorations since we didn’t decorate our apartment the year before we moved. The sad part was not being excited to un-decorate in August and then pull it all back out again 3 months later! I’m usually so excited to decorate, but seeing it just a few months ago took some of that away.

This was our first real party we’ve thrown together and will likely be our last. I learned that while I love the *idea* of throwing a party in my home, I kinda didn’t love it. :/ I felt like I didn’t spend enough time with everyone and the week leading up was really stressful… Throw in a load of family drama and it wasn’t the easy-peasy evening I was hoping for. BUT everyone seemed to have a good time, and that’s all that matters! And we got to show off our pretty living room, which I’m still obsessed with. <3

See our lil’ dino friend in the back yard? He’s maaaaaybe my favorite holiday decoration at the moment!

Jensey Loves Easy to Hang Collage Frame Sets

25th March 2015

When it comes to budgeting decor for our new home, our bedroom is sadly towards the bottom of the list. Someday I’d love a bigger bed and design budget to make it gorgeous, but for now, priorities are elsewhere.

After putting the room together with a hodge podge of things from our last home, the one thing we still needed was something above the bed. I’m such a sucker for master bedrooms decorated with wedding photos, so I started the hunt for collage frame sets. Thankfully it didn’t take too long to find this highly rated Pinnacle 7 piece frame kit from Amazon.

I read in the reviews that it was easy to hang, but I had no idea how easy. The frames have a nice weight to them and I was genuinely impressed by their quality. The coolest thing about this product was it came with a hanging guide. Nate and I leveled the paper above our bed where we wanted it, taped it, and he hammered the nails in the marked spots. It was a one man job and took him all of 15 minutes, start to finish.

Not bad for 15 minutes and $40, right? I so wish they came in bigger sizes- I’d have these suckers alllllllll over our home!

Jensey Loves Birthweek Parties <3

20th March 2015

One of the biggest bummers about the four years we lived in Nashville was that we didn’t make a whole lot of friends. We had our two best couple friends, but not enough to throw a party and have people over. I remember getting so upset our last Christmas there because I wanted to have a big holiday party and we had four friends to invite. Womp womp.

With our birthdays just five days apart, Nate and I enjoy celebrating our “birthweek” every March! Being our first birthweek in our new home, we thought it was the perfect time for a “family” get together in the new home (even though our living room is completely and totally bare and the upstairs still packed with boxes!)

It was so fun for us to have family over for the first time since moving in and even though it wasn’t our official housewarming party, the house feels soooooo warm now! <3

Our living room at the moment only has a couch and a couple chairs- No curtains, decor, anything, so I wanted to do something little to make it feel festive! We made this fun stripe wall with just $5 of paper streamers, masking tape, and about 15 minutes. It was so happy looking!
