We didn’t plan on seeing it.
Dream Along with Mickey never happened to be one of my favorites. I had nothing *against* the show, of course, it just wasn’t something I’d go out of my way to see. Or really see at all. But last week I blogged about our time with my sweet in-laws at the Magic Kingdom, and we happened to be in the park on what I knew would be the last day of this cute show.
The rain rain rain came down down down ALL day, so much so that every Dream Along with Mickey show was canceled leading up to the last one. The parade ended and we decided to split from the family to catch the final show. There was a mob of cast members and fans waiting, hoping, and wishing that the rain would stay away, but it wasn’t looking good.
We all cheered when they started it 10 minutes early!
And just a couple minutes in, the clouds cleared and it was all pretty darn magical! Nate took all of these photos and I just love them. <3
Someone brought a ton of blue and purple balloons to release at the end.
And then everyone around us was sobbing and I’d be lying if I didn’t find myself crying over this show I had previously felt indifferent to. The cast came out for a final bow and the crowd lost their business. I’m not kidding when I say *everyone* around us was crying, so much so that the father of the poor family next to us was so confused and asked me if “Mickey was leaving Disney World or something” and if it was normal for every show at Disney to be this emotional! AMAZING.
Well done, Dream Along cast! You clearly made such a difference in people’s lives and I’m so glad we got to be a part of the closing magic. <3
I didn’t get to watch the entire show when were visited WDW … so seeing the pictures is pretty neat! Thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks for looking, Victoria! I’m excited to see what the new show has in store. :)
Ok, I might be crying a little too……..I can’t believe my favorite photogs were there to capture my very favorite thing in all of WDW for it’s final performance! Fly with wings Dream Along!
Aww, yay!!! It was such a fluke that we were there but I’m so happy we were!! Your favorite thing in all of WDW? I’m so sorry it closed! :(
